From the President

Congratulations Pershore Civic Society 50 years old this year. Congratulations also to Andrew Clasen our chairman for continuing the momentum of reform and renewal as the Society faces its next half century.

What I wonder were the issues that were current in the town faced by the society in 1959 traffic in the Town and parking, planning and alterations to buildings in Bridge Street and Broad Street, the old chestnut that Pershore turns its back on the River and proposals to open up the riverside in the town.

All these issues remain with us in 2010 and will doubtless occupy us during the next 50 years. Despite its problems Pershore remains an unique place in which to live and work.
